IRS EFAST2 and Electronic Filing Mandate

Under IRS regulations, filings of the annual Form 5500-SF for the company’s 401k must be submitted electronically using the Form EFAST2 processing system. Form EFAST2 must now be used to file all Form 5500-SFs, including amended or delinquent prior year submissions.

Note: The Form 5500-EZ cannot be submitted electronically. Form 5500 must be filed on paper, and mailed to the IRS per instructions provided with this specialized IRS form.
